Putting aside that there’s probably more sustainable solutions here than disposable, plastic nose strips, these particular ones do work better & are much cheaper than brand name versions.
Also, believe me. I don’t take potentially looking like I’m an Alex Hormozi super stan lightly.
But these help me breathe so profoundly better, that I’m fairly convinced I probably have some type of deviated septum situation and need to get that looked at.
So, in the meantime, I have been using these: when I sleep at night, when I go on long runs, & whenever I am just hanging out at home.
Generally speaking: breathing through the nose is much healthier & better than primarily breathing through your mouth. I mean, there’s a reason that “mouth breather” is leveled as a pejorative term.
It’s beyond the scope of this to detail the “why.” But, if you’re curious, there’s a lot of historical support (in recorded spiritual texts), anecdotal support from reported experience, and modern scientific support.
Nasal breathing (and its differences with mouth breathing) is also baked into the lineages of Breathwork practice which are gaining a lot of popularity in recent years. You also hear about athletes like Erling Haaland who use mouth tape at night to force nose breathing. That’s obviously a bit different, but, at the very least, these will help encourage and make easier nasal breathing.
